EghtesadOnline: Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei visited an exhibition of knowledge-based companies and advanced technologies in Tehran on Tuesday.
During the two-hour visit, Ayatollah Khamenei visited 30 stands and was briefed by researchers and technologists on their latest scientific and technological achievements and commercialized projects carried out by young Iranian experts, Leader.ir reported.
Domestically designed and developed high-tech equipment for cancer diagnosis, robotic systems for surgical procedures, laboratory facilities, aircraft jet engines, control systems for power plants, simulators and advanced laser, as well as scanning, measurement and cutting systems were among the products on display.
On the sidelines of the visit, Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari presented a report on his organization’s plans and strategies aimed at helping a planned transition from oil-based economy to knowledge-based economy, Financial Tribune reported.
“At the behest of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, the National Development Fund [of Iran] has allocated considerable resources to the country’s scientific sector, which have helped expedite the implementation of numerous scientific and knowledge-based projects to boost the country’s economic resilience in the face of sanctions,” he said.
