EghtesadOnline: The closing ceremony of the 25th International Exhibition of Electronics, Computers and e-Commerce (Elecomp 2019) was held in Tehran on Wednesday, announcing the winners of a competition held on the sidelines of the event.
According to Bahram Asna-Ashari, the head of Iran ICT Guild Organization—an affiliate of Iran’s ICT Ministry and the event's organizer, announced that 430 IT companies, 360 startups and 34 state agencies participated in different sections of the event, Peivast reported.
Elecomp 2019 was held in Tehran on July 18-22.
"This year's Elecomp was visited by over 100,000 people," Financial Tribune quoted him as saying.
Islamic Azad University of Qazvin, Behpardakht Mellat Company, Douran Company, Pardis Diba Andishan Company, Aria Laser Iranians Company and Zebrasia Technologies Corporation were named best tech firms for showcasing innovative ideas, products and services in the fields of banking, electronic payment, IoT and big data.
Profile Center, Treejer and Karjoo Plus were hailed as the best startups in Elecomp Stars section. They were awarded cash prizes ranging from 150 to 250 million rials ($1,300-2,200).
In addition, the next seven best startups received 100 million rials ($880) each.
Elecomp 2019 was held over a 120,000-square-meter area in 20 pavilions, with a larger space allocated to startups compared with last year's event.
Some 320 tech firms, 430 startups and 45 game and app developers participated in the previous event.
Asna-Ashari thanked Iran’s two major mobile operators, MTN-Irancell and Mobile Telecommunications Company of Iran, for being the main sponsors of the event.
