EghtesadOnline: In an effort to expand landline telephone services in Tehran, six telecommunications centers have undergone cord renovation since May 18.

According to Public Relations Office in the provincial office of Telecommunications Company of Iran, a number of centers in Tehran, including Pasdaran, Ayatollah Kashani, Salman-e Farsi, Valiasr, Sa'adatmand and Tondgouyan, are currently undergoing renovation.

Tehran's TCI has informed landline telephone subscribers that their telephone connection might face problems for a maximum of 72 hours from the beginning of the renovation.

The move is aimed at detecting and repairing damaged telecom infrastructure, according to Financial Tribune.

The company has not mentioned whether the old cables are being replaced with new metal wires or optical fibers. However, in both cases, the renovation is expected to help improve the quality of landline telecom services offered in Tehran.
