EghtesadOnline: As two powerful nations in Asia, Iran and China have high potentials for developing their strategic ties, and it is believed that with further consolidation of their bilateral relations, they are going to protect themselves against all damage including regional interventions by the Western countries.

The visit by China's Defense Minister General Chang Wanquan to Iran, many believe, is going to open a new chapter in the long-term strategic defense ties between Tehran and Beijing, against a backdrop of good economic ties.

According to IRNA, the establishment of strategic ties between the two nations is expected to consolidate collective regional treaties like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, while it tends to demonstrate that Iran's military apparatus is in pursuit of defense diplomacy aimed at securing national interests.

On the other hand, what makes the long-term strategic ties between Iran and China even more vital is the identical stances adopted by the two countries in the face of regional issues, including fighting terrorism and extremism and attempts by Western countries to infiltrate the strategic milieu maintained by Iran and China in the West and East of Asia.

Standing by Iran and Russia, China has always been against the Western avaricious approaches in the region and it has dismissed a military solution to the ongoing crisis in Syria.

The strategic cooperation between Tehran and Beijing is going to put an end to all plots against the Islamic Republic, while Washington is using a number of regional regimes, including the Zionist regime, as its proxies to undermine Iran and portraying it as a regional threat.

And the tendency of the Asian power as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, to foster long-term strategic ties with Iran, portrays the real image of the Islamic Republic as a stable, secure and peace-loving nation which is eager to have friendly relations with all the countries in the world.

The active defense diplomacy adopted by the Islamic Republic of Iran as an important instrument is going to help promote deterrence as well as development in the country.

The diplomacy, in fact, is the result of the policies assumed by President Hassan Rouhani's government of hope and prudence to create détente and a world without violence.

Policies adopted by the government of President Rouhani have proven that with unnecessary tensions in Iran's foreign policy easing, the image of the Islamic Republic of Iran is increasingly improving.
