EghtesadOnline: Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will address the US Council on Foreign Relation on July 17 during his visit to New York City.

“Iranian foreign minister is due to participate in a meeting presided by Richard N. Haass, the Council’s President,” the US Council on Foreign Relation’s think tank said in an announcement.

During the meeting, Zarif will discuss current developments in the Middle East, according to ISNA.

Zarif is also scheduled to take part in the UN meeting of the high-level political forum on sustainable development in New York and hold bilateral talks with his counterparts on the sidelines of the meeting.

The political forum will convene under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council from 10 July to 19 July 2017, including the three-day ministerial meeting of the forum from 17-19 July. The theme will be "Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world".

Zarif will be accompanied by his deputies Abbas Araghchi and Majid Takht-Ravanchi on this trip.
