EghtesadOnline: Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in separate phone conversations with German and Spanish counterparts Sigmar Gabriel and Alfonso Dastis respectively discussed latest regional developments.

Zarif started consultations with his regional and international counterparts following the shocking fallout between Qatar and a number of Middle Eastern countries, IRNA reported.

Earlier he called on the Persian Gulf states to solve their disputes through dialogue. 

He wrote on his Twitter account on Monday, 'Neighbors are permanent; geography cannot be changed. Coercion is never the solution.'

'Dialogue is imperative, especially during the holy month of Ramadan,' he added in his tweet.

He also made separate telephone conversations with foreign ministers of Turkey, Indonesia, Iraq, Oman, Tunisia, Malaysia, Lebanon, Algeria, Kuwait as well as High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, highlighting the need for resolve the ongoing dispute in the region through dialogue.

In an unprecedented move, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, along with Egypt, have severed relations with Qatar accusing the gas rich country of supporting terrorist organizations. The accusation was rejected by Doha.
