EghtesadOnline: Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Monday congratulated Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi for winning his second Academy Award for “The salesman”.
Once again, the ambassadors of the Iranian art carried to the world the message of the Iranian nation, which is the message of culture, civilization, peace, honor and national pride, Qasemi said.
He said that today the artists shoulder a big responsibility more than the past centuries and decades to strengthen the bonds of friendship among the nations, IRNA reported.
He said he was happy that the “powerful and hardworking Iranian filmmaker” could once again carry the message of peace and friendship of the Iranian nation to the world with the language of art of him and his colleagues.
Qasemi appreciated a decision made by Farhadi and actress Taraneh Alidousti to boycott 2017 Oscars as Farhadi said “for the people of my country and those of other six nations whom have been disrespected by the inhumane law that bans entry of immigrants to the US.”
“What happened in this ceremony showed that today’s world has passed behind creating delimitation and building walls and barbed wire,” Qasemi said.
