EghtesadOnline: Officials from Iran and the Czech Republic in a recent meeting in the Czech capital Prague have explored ways to broaden bilateral cooperation in energy sector.

The Iranian delegation headed by Deputy Energy Minister Hoshang Falahatian joined with Czech officials at the first meeting of the Islamic Republic and the Czech Republic energy working group.

According to IRNA, the two sides urged development of mutual ties between the two countries in all energy-related areas, including power generation, water, construction and renovation of power plants, promotion of renewable energies, and construction of small hydroelectric power plants as well as wastewater management.

Later in the day, the Iranian delegation also met with Czech Minister of Industries, Energy and Trade Jan Mladek.

Mladek, during the meeting, voiced his country's willingness to broaden cooperation with Iran, urging the ministry's support for the Czech energy companies to engage with their Iranian peers.

Falahatian also held separate meetings with Czech water and energy company entrepreneurs and highlighted Iran's capabilities in the energy sectors.

Iran is to increase 5,000 megawatt of energy each year and is expecting Czech companies to seize the opportunity to help Iran achieve the end, he said.
