EghtesadOnline: Traffic at Iran’s border with Turkey is back to normal, said an official with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

“There are no problems hindering the movement of trucks,” Mehr News Agency quoted Mohammad Javad Atrchian as saying.  Iran reopened land borders with Turkey on Saturday, after hours of shutdown in the wake of a bloody coup attempt in the neighboring country. Transit trucks and passengers were allowed to travel back and forth from the three border crossings of Bazargan, Sarv and Razi as of Saturday evening, reports Financial Tribune.

A Turkish Army faction’s attempt to oust the government on Friday night wreaked havoc in Turkey. The coup attempt failed, as supporters of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took control on Saturday morning. Turkey is currently Iran’s only land transit route to Europe.
