Takfiri terrorists doomed to defeat: Iran Quds Force Commander

Speaking in a ceremony held to commemorate the martyrdom of one of the Iranian military advisors in Syria, General Soleimani said that defenders of the Shia holy shrines in Syria are not only defending this country but also they are defending Islam and the Islamic Republic of Iran, reports IRNA.

The Takfiri terrorist groups including Daesh have not been established to wage war in Syria but they have been organized to deliver a blow to the Islamic Republic, the commander added.

He noted that if defenders of the holy shrines had not resisted the terrorist elements, Daesh could have established its emperor in the region.

Iran is proud of its efforts to ward off such catastrophic events, General Soleimani said.

The world now acknowledges that the groups fighting the Syrian government are terrorists, the commander added.

He underlined that Iran has led just a military advisory mission in Syria to support Damascus and that the Islamic Republic has not deployed troops in Syria.

The commander also said that the European governments are paying the price of the support they extend to the terrorist groups.
