EghtesadOnline: Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Saturday called on European Union officials to have a better understanding of Iran's justice system and refrain from accusing Iran of human rights violations.

Qasemi made the remarks in reaction to a recent statement by European External Action Service spokesman over verdict of an Iranian court of justice about an Iranian citizen.

According to IRNA, Qasemi rebuked the EU official for making such remarks which account for interference and unconventional.

Human rights negotiations are to be held between Iran and Europe in near future, so that such remarks are regarded as unconstructive, the spokesman said.

The issue of human rights should not be used as a pretext to interfere in domestic affairs of other states which are merely the task of the justice systems of the independent states, he added.

Qasemi said that any attempt to persuade other people to accept the values of another country or region will be a comeback to old paradigms of the international relations.
