Iran releases an Iranian-Canadian university professor

EghtesadOnline: Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that Iran has released an Iranian-Canadian university professor held for security charges.

Qasemi said that Homa Hoodfar, arrested in Iran for security charges, was released on humanitarian grounds, including her illness, reports IRNA.

Homa Hoodfar went to Canada through Oman, he said.

Iranian national law does not recognize dual nationality.
