EghtesadOnline: Appointment of any UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran is unjustifiable and unacceptable, the Secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights Mohammad Javad Larijani said.

Iran's basic position towards appointment of a special rapporteur with a country mandate is that such measures is the result of certain states' double standards and selective approaches in the framework of the UN Human Rights Council, he said.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, Ahmed Shaheed, said in his twitter account on Wednesday that Pakistani human rights activist Asma Jahangir will replace him, according to ISNA.

Shaheed said Jahangir will start her work in November.
