EghtesadOnline: Iran called on Turkey to immediately halt military operations in Syrian soil, raising concerns over continuous military operation of Ankara in Syria.

“Although fight against terrorism and making efforts to preserve stability and security of the region is an unchangeable and important principle in foreign policy of regional countries seeking peace, however, this issue cannot and should not be a justification for violating territorial integrity and military operations in territory of other counties and without coordination with the central government,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.

He said that resorting to any system which overshadows political sovereignty and legitimate might of central government is unacceptable, reports ISNA.

He said that Turkish continuous military presence in Syria would make the issue more complicated, adding spreading conflicts in northern Syria would lead to killing more innocent and civilians, and Turkish Army needs to immediately stop military actions in Syria.
