EghtesadOnline: Iran demands the European and Japanese know-how on safety of petrochemical plants, Managing Director of the Persian Gulf Holding Adel Nejadsalim said on Tuesday.

Nejadsalim said that negotiations have been initiated with two reputable European and Japanese companies for promotion of safety in petrochemical plants, reports IRNA. 

He told a press conference that a committee was set up to study safety measures and apply modern technology to secure safety of the petrochemical plants.

He said that Iranian petrochemical industry preferred to cooperate with companies from Japan and Europe to utilize modern technology for safety of environment of the petrochemical industry.

Abu Ali Sina Petrochemical complex in Mahshahr city, southern Iran, caught fire in July and Parasailing production unit suffered major damages.

Experts estimated the damages around 60 million euro.
