EghtesadOnline: Iran and Afghanistan are intended to re-launch the joint economic commission meeting between the two nations following a four-year halt, says an official in Iran's interior ministry.
The two-day meeting is going to be co-chaired Iran's Minister of Interior Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and Eklil Ahmad Hakimi Afghanistan's Minister of Finance, said Babak Dinparast Deputy Interior Minister for Economic and Regional Development Affairs on Saturday, according to IRNA.
The meeting due to take place on August 9-10 in Tehran, will see participants joining different specialist workgroups to promote the cooperation agenda of set by the commission.
The specialist workgroups include economic and trade, energy, water and environment, science, culture, arts and healthcare, transport, communications and transit as well as workgroups for provincial and private sector cooperation.
The two ministers will also explore ways for strengthening and developing trade and economic ties between Tehran and Kabul in separate meetings while the two are expected to discuss regional and international issues, Dinparast said.
The meeting will also be attended by Chief Executive Officers and managers from 50 governmental organizations as well as heads of some domestic economic corporations, he said.
