EghtesadOnline: Iran’s highest-ranking military commander will pay a visit to the Sultanate of Oman for talks on bilateral and regional cooperation.

Heading a political and military delegation, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri is going to travel to Muscat at the official invitation of his Omani counterpart, Tasnim News Agency reported.

The senior Iranian commander is scheduled to hold talks about bilateral and regional cooperation during his stay in Oman.

Major General Baqeri will also visit Oman’s military and scientific centers during the trip.

In April 2019, high-ranking military officials from Iran and Oman signed a memorandum of understanding to boost cooperation between the two neighboring countries in various military spheres.

The two neighbors have held several joint naval drills in recent years.
