EghtesadOnline: The Tehran stock market saw lukewarm trade on Sunday as prices of most tickers hovered around the flatline amid declining interest of retail investors.
The main gauge of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 206.82 points or 0.02% for the day to finish at 1,378,983. The TSE’s equal-weighted index too ended flat barely gaining 0.01%.
Given investors’ reluctance to either buy or sell shares amid the existing uncertain climate, value of retail trade plunged 21% to reach 24.44 trillion rials ($84 million).
About 3.8 billion shares valued at 25.78 trillion rials ($88m) were exchanged at TSE on Sunday.
Khouzestan Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Pardis Petrochemical Company, Pars Petrochemical Company and Iran Khodro Company.
National Iranian Copper Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company and Chadormalu Mining And Industrial Company.
The benchmark of Iran Fara Bourse, IFX, closed slightly below the flatline and lost 2.06 points or 0.01% to close trade at 18,660.36.
About 1.57 billion shares and securities valued at 22.97 trillion rials ($82m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company, Hormozgan Steel Company and Pasargad Insurance Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Ghaed Basir Petrochemical Company, Takhte Jamshid Petrochemical Industries Company and Tukarail Company.
