EghtesadOnline: After a relatively good session earlier, Tehran stocks stumbled on Sunday and jumped back into negative territory. The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 11,694.17 points, or 0.77%, to end trading at 1,515,757.
Sell side pressure in shares of giant metal, auto and mineral companies pulled down the TSE benchmark. Refinery stocks were the top gainers.
The equal-weighted index also dropped by 0.20% amid sell-off in a broad range of small cap stocks. The index gives the same weight to all stocks irrespective of their market cap.
About 12.76 billion shares valued at 156.27 trillion rials ($601.07 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Nouri Petrochemical Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 14.3% to 68,820 rials per share. Sina Bank incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.97% to 13,180 rials per share.
National Iranian Copper Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Social Security Investment Company, Iran Khodro Company and Mines and Metals Development Investment Company.
Nouri Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Esfahan Oil Refining Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and Parsian Bank.
Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, closed a little above the flatline barely gaining 0.02% to close trade at 19,768.18. Almost 3.47 billion securities valued at 62.06 trillion rials ($238.7m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Saba Tamin Investment Company, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company, Day Bank and Marun Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Hormozgan Steel Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company and Esfahan Steel Company.
