EghtesadOnline: The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange lost a strong support level Monday with the TEDPIX diving deeper below 1.6 million points.
Extending earlier losses, TEDPIX shed 54,957 points for the day, dropping by 3.5% and closing session at 1,515,929 points, the lowest since June 30.
Out of a total of 316 ticker symbols at TSE, 244 were in the red, accounting for 72% of the total. Nearly 90% of active tickers in the junior equity market closed in negative territory.
The value of retail trade declined sharply to 20 trillion rials ($70 million) on Monday, indicating that there were few buyers for the long lines of sales orders.
Market data indicate sales orders worth 146 trillion rials ($520m) remained unprocessed while retail traders managed to flee the market by selling shares worth 11.44 trillion rials ($40m).
About 1.82 billion shares valued at 26.85 trillion rials ($92.6m) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Iran Carbon Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.99% to 63,500 rials per share.
Soufian Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 31.4% to 13,740 rials per share.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company.
South Khorasan Province Investment Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Pars Minoo Industrial Company, Iran Carbon Company and Data Processing Iran Company.
The Industry Index lost 50,729.08 points or 3.63% to register 1,347,536.63 while the Free Float Index was down 67,522.5 points to hit 2,018,307.78.
TSE 30 went down 3,681.88 points to settle at 78,215.91 and the TSE 50 ended 2,518.59 points lower to finish at 60,315.86.

Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX lost 388.85 points or 2.17% to close Monday trade at 17,561.9.
About 1.27 billion securities valued at 25.61 trillion rials ($88.33m) were traded at the junior equity exchange for the day.
Marun Petrochemical Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company and Day Bank had the most negative impact on IFX.
Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Tukarail Company, Sanati Doodeh Fam Company and MahTaab Kahnouj Power Generation Company.
