EghtesadOnline: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s minister of industry and commerce has called for stronger economic relations with Iran.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s minister of industry and commerce has called for stronger economic relations with Iran.

Addressing businessmen at a meeting in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan Province on Tuesday, Nouruddin Azizi added that Afghanistan is keen on establishing joint ventures with Iran, noting that the two countries enjoy a common border, culture and religion, Ariana News reported.

Azizi’s meeting comes amid growing trade ties between the two countries.

Last week, Tehran opened a permanent trade and expo center in Kabul to showcase Iranian products and boost trade between the two countries.

Azizi, who attended the opening ceremony, highlighted Afghanistan’s hopes of expanding trade transactions between the two countries.

Officials from both countries said the development of sustainable trade and export was the most important task of this new center.
