EghtesadOnline: Golestan Province’s exports stood at 130,410 tons worth $35.25 million in the first three months of the current fiscal year (March 21-June 21), registering a 450% and 58% growth in weight and value respectively year-on-year.
Director General of Golestan Customs Administration Ebrahim Hosseini added that polystyrene, cheese, dates, pistachios, cement, potato and iodine were the main exported goods.
Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan were the main destinations.
Golestan’s imports stood at 1,281 tons worth $5.22 million in the same period, registering a 32% and 123% growth in weight and value respectively, YOY.
Fabrics, synthetic wax and antistatics were among the main imported goods and China, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Poland and Vietnam were the main exporters.
“Golestan’s customs revenue stood at $5.09 million during the period, registering a 349% YOY growth,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
Incheh Borun is the only land and rail customs terminal of Golestan Province located in Dashli Borun section of Gonbad-e Kavous city with a population of 370,000 people on the border between Iran and Turkmenistan.
A total of 267,000 tons of commodities worth $112 million were exported from Golestan Province’s border crossings during the last Iranian year (March 2020-21), showing a 25% and 19% decline in weight and value respectively compared with the year before.
