EghtesadOnline: The number of industrial units in the western province of Hamedan has seen an 83% rise in the last seven years to reach 1,300, according to a senior official with Hamedan Governorate.

Acknowledging the government’s generous support to small- and medium-sized enterprises in the province, Zaher Pourmojahed added that in 2013, when President Hassan Rouhani took office for the first term, Hamedan was home to 19 industrial towns, which figure has now risen to 26, IRNA reported.

Pourmojahed noted that investments in provincial SMEs have quadrupled during the period under the review.

A total of 16,461 people are currently employed in Hamedan’s industrial zones, up by 73% compared to seven years ago.
