Flood Inflicts $6m in Losses on Golestan Province
EghtesadOnline: Flooding in eastern parts of Golestan Province on July 16 has inflicted losses worth 1.5 trillion rials ($6 million).
“Golestan’s agriculture sector, particularly farms and livestock, has suffered the heftiest losses worth around 500 billion rials [$2 million]," director general of Golestan Crisis Management Organization, Reza Qaderi, was quoted as saying by the news portal of Iran Chamber of Commerce Industries, Mines and Agriculture.
This was followed by roads, buildings and water and sewage systems that incurred losses worth $1.69 million, $403,000 and $383,000 respectively, he added.
Golestan Province is located in northeast Iran.
