EghtesadOnline: The 2nd ‘Iran Mines and Mining Industries Summit: Development and Investment’, otherwise known as IMIS, is scheduled to be held in Tehran December 10-11.

Top government officials, including Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh, head of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization Mehdi Karbasian, and central bank governor, Valiollah Seif, are expected to attend. Foreign delegates at the two-day event will include managing director of Germany’s SMS Group GmbH, Burkhard Dahmen; executive vice president of Finland’s Outotec, Kalle Harkki; and CEO of Russia’s JSC EXIAR, Alexey Tyupanov. IMIDRO, the organizer of the event, aims to attract foreign investment in the mining sector and discuss the latest domestic and foreign technological developments, the organization reported on its website. The previous edition of IMIS was held in May 2015, and was attended by representatives of top mining companies, including Outotec, Rio Tinto, Danielli, MCC, Tenova and Hatch.
