EghtesadOnline: A total of 197,474 tons of essential goods, including wheat, rice and livestock feed, were transported from the southeastern port of Chabahar to the mainland from Feb. 20 to April 3 by 7,586 trucks, an official with Sistan-Baluchestan Department of Road Maintenance and Transportation said.

The figure shows an 83% increase in tonnage and 68% growth in the number of freight transport trucks compared with the similar period of the year before, according to Financial Tribune.

“During the corresponding 45-day period of the previous year (Feb. 20-April 4), 4,514 trucks moved about 107,843 tons of essential goods from Chabahar to different domestic destinations,” Ebrahim Javshiri was also quoted as saying by the news outlet of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
