EghtesadOnline: Iran and Vietnam traded $352 million worth of commodities in the last Iranian year (March 2018-19) to register a twofold increase compared with the previous year, the head of Iran-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce said.

“Due to economic sanctions imposed on Iran, part of our bilateral trade is carried out through third-party countries. Some of our exports are made through companies located in Turkey and Oman. Our imports, on the other hand, are partly made by companies in the UAE. We estimate here in the joint chamber that our actual trade figure is close to $700 million,” Mostafa Mousavi was also quoted as saying by ILNA.

The official noted that Iran’s main exported goods to Vietnam include seafood, engine oil, tar, petrochemical raw materials, oil derivatives, mineral products, zinc and copper.

Imports from the South Asian country, Mousavi said, include mobile phones and spare parts, motherboards, coconut and cinnamon powder, coffee, bags and footwear, Financial Tribune reported.
