Iran, Germany to cooperate on seed Production: Deputy Minister
EghtesadOnline: Central Organization for Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC) launches new cooperation with an agricultural German company to import and produce six new varieties of canola and sugar beet seed.
Hossein Shirzad, who is also the chief executive officer of CORC said on the CORC, has facilitated signing a contract between Central Union of the Rural Production Cooperatives (CURPC) and, the German seed production company (KWS).
The official implied that three varieties of Winter Canola seed, as well as the Sugar beet under the supervision of the Agriculture research institutes, have been imported.
"These high yield and bolting-resistant seeds are going to be farmed in the selected farms of the agricultural cooperatives on the current Autumn cultivation through Participatory Varietal Selection (PVS) framework ,nationwide", he added.
