About 1.68 billion shares valued at $55.25 million changed hands at TSE for the day.
Trading at TSE and Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Iran Pharmaceutical Products Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 14.25% to 8,010 rials per share, Financial Tribune reported.
Isfahan Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.94% to 6,490 rials per share.
Mapna Group gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Mobin Petrochemical Co., and Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company.
Saipa Group contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Omid Investment Group, and Iran Khodro Group.
The Price Index gained 187.06 points to close at 51,389.6.
The First Market Index was up 222.44 points to post 130,290.4. Second Market Index increased by 2,495.19 points to reach 350,104.2.
The Industry Index went up by 629.10 points to register 160,891.1. Free Float Index was up 501.69 points to hit 187,628.89.
The TSE 30 went up 39.81 points to settle at 8,828 and the TSE 50 ended 36.32 points higher to finish at 7,773.4.

Iran Fara Bourse’s main index IFX gained 4.12 points or 0.22% to close Tuesday trade at 1,914.98.
About 1.16 billion securities valued at $44 million were traded at the over-the-counter exchange.
Esfahan Steel Co. had the highest number of traded shares and trade value as 133.69 million of its shares worth $2.71 million were traded.
Ghadir Petrochemical Co, Ghaed Basir Petrochemical Co., and Goharzamin Iron Ore Co registered the highest value increase.
Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group, Pegah Fars Dairy Company, and Tadbirgaran-e Fars and Khuzestan suffered the biggest decline.
Goharzamin Iron Ore Co, Middle East Mines Industries Development Holding Company, and Damavand Power Generation Company had the most positive impact on IFX.
