USD Back on Sana
EghtesadOnline: After the temporary removal of the US dollar from Sanarate.com, the website that records the average exchange rate of foreign currencies from across the exchange bureaux, the greenback has found its way back into the online portal.
However, instead of its former place at the top and among major currencies, it has been relegated to the bottom and among the less important currencies. The website had reportedly stopped showing the exchange rate of the US dollar since last Sunday, but investors could find the exchange rate again on Thursday. Sanarate has selected as its major three currencies euro, Chinese yuan and Emirati dirham. The move has been interpreted as the latest measure by CBI to sideline the US dollar. As of Thursday, the dollar’s exchange rate was 94,582 rials on Sanarate, according to Financial Tribune.
