EghtesadOnline: Local automotive company Ramak Khodro, which used to import SsangYong cars into Iran, announced over the weekend that the company has clinched a deal with the South Korean firm to manufacture Tivoli in Iran.
According to officials with the firm, the vehicles are to be manufactured in Saveh, 100 km southwest of Tehran, and Qazvin, to the west of the capital, local automotive website Asbe Bokhar reported.
Furthermore, the company has announced that currently 450 people have been employed by Ramak Khodro to man its production lines.
The number is to be increased to 3,000 over time, Financial Tribune reported.
Ramak Khodro reports that its production facilities have the capacity to make 30,000 units annually. SsangYong is yet to confirm the deal.
