SSO to Insure Employees of Online Firms
EghtesadOnline: An initiative by the Social Security Organization to extend employee insurance coverage to online businesses will take effect shortly, the deputy head of SSO for insurance affairs said.
SSO is in talks with the owners of Internet-based firms to finalize the terms of the insurance plan. “I think our talks with related companies will soon yield results and we will announce the insurance terms,” Mohammad Hassan Zoda was also quoted as saying by Risk News on Saturday. He clarified that his organization is determined to enforce the scheme “under any circumstances”. “Those employed by online companies will certainly be insured. The work will proceed better, if we reach an agreement with the employers … But in case our negotiations fail, we will have to exercise our insurance mandate,” Financial Tribune quoted him as saying.
