EghtesadOnline: Secretary-General of the Federation of Iranian Food Associations Kaveh Zargaran was elected a member of the board of directors of the International Sunflower Oil Association.
The other 13 new board members elected in the Saturday voting of the international body were from China, the US, Ukraine, Turkey, Hungary and India, the website of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported. Zargaran also doubles as the chairman of TCCIM’s Agriculture Commission. ISOA was established in 2015 in Rome by the representatives of national associations and industrial companies from China, Ukraine, Russia, Hungary, Spain and Argentina. It is an international non-profit organization aimed at promoting the production and consumption of sunflower oil. Global demand for sunflower oil is rising, with India, China and Egypt ranking as the oil’s top consumers in 2017, according to Financial Tribune.
