EghtesadOnline: Winners of this year’s edition of Nourbakhsh Banking Innovation Awards were introduced late Tuesday at the close of the two-day Seventh Conference on Electronic Banking and Payment Systems in Tehran.
“Sayyad”, the integrated system designed to issue checks online by the Modern Information Services Corporation, received the award in the national systems category. Seyyed Kazem Dehqan, the company’s CEO, accepted the trophy.
Bank Melli Iran, the nation’s biggest bank, received an award in the customers’ systems category for its mobile app, “Bale”. Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh, the bank’s chief executive, was on hand to receive the award named after Mohsen Nourbakhsh (1948-2003), a two-term governor of the Central Bank of Iran (1981–86 and 1994–2003) who also led the Ministry of Economy during 1989-93.
Bank Maskan was awarded the trophy in the social responsibility category for establishing its “Ava” online system. Abolqasem Rahimi Anaraki, the newly-appointed CEO of the agent bank of the housing sector, accepted the award, Financial Tribune reported.
In the interbank systems’ category, Hassan Zadmehr accepted the award on behalf of his Bank Mellat-affiliate, Yaas Arghavani. The firm has developed a system to organize and expand the branch system.
In the security and infrastructure network category, Behin Rahkar Tose’e Pishro Company was recognized for creating the Banking Security Operations Center (Banking Soc) and its chief executive, Mohammad Naderi, received the award.
The Iran Kish Credit Card Company received the award for excellence in the hardware and equipment category. CEO Sadeq Faramarzi was bestowed the award for leading the firm that has created an electronic payment kiosk known as CNG.
Lastly, Tosan Corporation was honored with the innovation award in the platforms category for creating an integrated service solution with an outlook toward open innovation. Tosan CEO Seyyed Rouhollah Fatemi Ardakani accepted the award.
Two high-level officials with the central bank, namely its director for innovative technologies, Nasser Hakimi, and its deputy for economic affairs, Peyman Qorbani, presented the awards to the winners.
CBI and its affiliate Monetary & Banking Research Institute organize the annual awards ceremony at the end of the electronic banking conference, which is the biggest of its kind in the country. The awards are aimed at honoring distinguished services by banks and banking solution companies offering successful innovative services.
