EghtesadOnline: Government spokesman Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht said Iran will use its past experience to counter impacts of the sanctions.
Addressing his weekly press briefing, Nobakht said, 'Government is at work to take a series of influential measures in that connection; of course, we should be watchful of other side in the process; the case will be treated per guidelines offered to the Minister of Interior.'
According to IRNA, he said despite windfall of budget-related problems, the State Management and Planning Organization has planned fully financing the required credit for the purpose.
To a question about precise figure on the amount of the US overdue debt to Iran, he said distinction should be made between Iranian assets in foreign banks and the reserves of the Central Bank of Iran, the deposit of the National Development Fund and foreign exchange assets deposited in foreign bank accounts.
Commenting on CAATSA, he said, 'Iran's stance on the issue is clear and based on the agreement reached, the Supreme National Security Council has formed a special working group to look into the issue.'
He said the working group will submit its reports to the SNSC as the body will follow up arising related issues and make necessary decisions consented by all senior officials.
In its recent decision, the US has put Iran's IRGC on its list of terrorist groups. The move has been described by the Iranian officials as ridiculous.
Donald Trump in August, gave the go-ahead for imposition of wide-ranging sanctions against Iran, Russia and North Korea by signing a law known as CAATSA.
CAATSA, by enhancing US sanctions against the three countries, unprecedented over the past five years, targets Iran's ballistic missile program, while it prepare the legal basis for sanctioning the IRGC on allegations of its support for terrorism.
By placing new sanctions on Iran, Washington is acting in defiance of the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He said no worry about the US sanctions, as Iran has been successful to sideline the presumably smart crippling sanctions of the US and has its economy growth and harness inflation.
On relations with the neighbors, he said tripartite session of Iranian, Russian and Azeri presidents will be held in Tehran on Wednesday. 'Consolidation of relations with the neighbors has he first say in the country's regional policies and diplomacy.'
Nobakht said the three presidents have held ample coordination sessions and tomorrow session will be in line with the expansion of relations. 'Of course Iran and Russia hold similar approaches on regional issues, especially terrorism and we can predict from now that tomorrow session will be good and effective.'
