EghtesadOnline: The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade is planning to gradually introduce a mandatory standards protocol for all Iranian products.

Industries Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari made the announcement in a ceremony to mark the World Standards Day in Iran on Tuesday. First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri and the head of Iran’s Standards Organization, Nayyereh Pirouzbakht, were also in attendance at yesterday’s event, IRNA reported. The aim of World Standards Day is to raise awareness among regulators, industrialists and consumers about the importance of standardization to the global economy. The day honors the efforts of thousands of experts who have developed standards for the improvement of product quality to safeguard public health and safety, Financial Tribune reported.
