EghtesadOnline: Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah said on Friday that development of the Iranian port of Chabahar prepares the ground for promotion of trade relations between regional states.

He referred to Chabahar, in southeastern Iran, as a strategic and important port city which plays a key role in economic flourishing of India, Afghanistan and Central Asian countries, IRNA reported.

Abdullah made the remarks while addressing Indian Council of World Affairs in New Delhi. He arrived in the Indian capital on Wednesday on a four-day visit.

He noted that Kabul urges speeding up Chabahar's development.

Iran, Afghanistan and India signed an agreement to activate north-south corridor and to promote transportation plans between three countries.

He also urged international community to fight against terrorism and to prevent terrorism to achieve its goals in the region.
