EghtesadOnline: The third Airbus passenger jet Iran has purchased, following the massive deal secured with the European planemaker, operated its first international flight on Friday, Mehr News Agency reported on Saturday.
The wide-body A330 model flew from Shiraz to Doha departing at 2:23 p.m. and arriving at 3:16pm Tehran time, according to Flightradar24. Delivered on March 25, it was Iran Air’s second A330 out of a batch of 100 jets the flag carrier has ordered from the European planemaker.
The order was placed after the lifting of sanctions in January last year, when Iran and the world powers started implementing a deal they had clinched months earlier over Iran’s nuclear program. Iran Air’s first delivered Airbus plane was the single-aisle A321 model, according to Financial Tribune.
