Super Cranes on Way to Shahid Rajaee Port
EghtesadOnline: Port equipment, including two super cranes, purchased for Phase 2 of Shahid Rajaee Port has been loaded in a European country and will arrive at the major Iranian port, located in the southern Hormozgan Province, within two weeks, the deputy head of Iran Ports and Maritime Organization, Noureddin Aliabadi, said on Wednesday, without naming the European country.
The equipment would enable giant container ships with a capacity of 20,000 containers to enter and dock at Shahid Rajaee Port, he added. As much as €100 million have been allocated for the procurement of 12 super cranes and the two that are due to arrive have cost €17 million, IRNA quoted Aliabadi as saying. Together with Imam Khomeini Port also in the south of the country, Shahid Rajaee accounts for 80% of the total throughput of all Iranian ports, Financial Tribune reported.
