Iran to receive 4 ATR aircraft within days
EghtesadOnline: The French-Italian airplane manufacturer ATR is expected to deliver four civilian aircraft to Iran this week, an official says.
After signing a contract between ATR and Iran's national flag-carrier Iran Air, the French-Italian company is expected to deliver nine planes to Iran in 2017, Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development for International Affairs Asghar Fakhrieh Kashan told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday.
A group of experts from Iran Air are now in France to test the ATR aircraft expected to join Iran’s passenger air fleet soon, IRNA reported.
Meanwhile, Fakhrieh Kashan referred to the contact sealed between Iran Air and Airbus, saying that three aircraft have been delivered to Iran by the French aircraft manufacturer and three more will also be sent to the country.
He also said that Boeing Company is scheduled to deliver its first plane to Iran in 2018.
The implementation of Iran nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the visit to Paris by President Hassan Rouhani on Jan 27, 2016, opened the way for Airbus and Iran to ink the preliminary contract for the purchase of 100 civilian aircraft.
Iran received the first purchased plane in January, 2017 and two other A 330 planes entered Iran afterwards.
In addition to buying aircraft, the contracts also include items like training courses for pilots, repair and maintenance, air navigation services development, airport operation, exchange of technology and the coordinating regulations for Iran Air.
