EghtesadOnline: Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh said on Sunday that the South Pars field in southern Iran is the symbol of the Economy of Resistance urged by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
Zangeneh made the remarks speaking during a ceremony where President Hassan Rouhani inaugurated eight megaprojects in Assalouyeh, Bushehr province.
“Inauguration of these projects showed that we can do great jobs and…can be the first petrochemical power of the region,” the minister said.
According to IRNA, he said that despite all the financial problems and the pressure of sanctions, the Iranian government managed to come into stream 11 phases of South Pars Field.
“We pursued contracts in the oil and gas sectors and reached national consensus,” Zangeneh said, adding, “These contracts will create 100,000 generative jobs as Assalouyeh did and became a source of pride for Iran.”
