2 SP Phases Set for Full Production
EghtesadOnline: Phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars Gas Field will become fully operational in two weeks, said Mohammadreza Chalipa, director of the two phases.
"Each of the phases are currently producing 46 million cubic meters of natural gas, but output will reach 56 mcm/d in two weeks," the official said, ISNA reported on Tuesday. In addition to sweetening natural gas and separating gas condensates, the phases will produce methane, a chemical compound widely used in petrochemical industries, as well as sulfur. Phases 17 and 18 have been developed as part of a contract between IDRO and the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) where the former was in charge of onshore engineering and purchasing equipment and the latter developed offshore platforms. The mega South Pars gas field is being developed in 24 phases, Financial Tribune reported.
