EghtesadOnline: Iran Air finalized a contract with Turboprop maker ATR for purchase at least 20 aircraft, Iranian minister of roads and urban development Abbas Akhoundi announced on Wednesday.

Negotiations with ATR reached the final stage, the two sides signed the contract for purchase 20 aircraft and now we are at the stage of exchanging documents,” he said.

“With the finalization of document exchange, the introduction of the first ATR aircraft into Iran’s air fleet will begin to be followed up through official channels,” Akhoundi added.

It seems that the agreement would be implemented by the middle of March, according to ISNA.

The deal will come after Iran signed contracts with Europe's Airbus (AIR.PA) and U.S. rival Boeing (BA.N) last year to purchase about 180 jets.
