EghtesadOnline: The Iranian mountain climber Javad Noruzi is heading to Nepal to climb mount Everest.
According to the scheduled plan, his climbing begins on Friday, April 7 and will end on May 31, says the director of mountaineering and sport climbing committee of Khorasan Razavi Province Mohammad Zahmatkesh.
Noruzi’s expedition, which brings another honor for the city of Mashhad and Iran with the simultaneous international event of Mashhad 2017 as the Capital of the Islamic Culture, will be accompanied by an experienced and professional team of Iranian climbers, IRNA reported.
'Noruzi has been honored by winning the title of 'Snow Leopard'. Those who climb the mountains over 7,000 meters high will be granted the title by the Asia Ski Mountaineering Federation,” says Zahmatkesh.
Late Mahdi Amidi from Khorasan is known to be the first Iranian to climb Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen.
The Everest, 8,848 meters high, is the highest mountain in the world and is located in Himalayas between Nepal and Tibet.
