EghtesadOnline: The South Pars confiscated equipment was released after implementation of the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers known also as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), says Pars Oil and Gas Company Managing Director.
There is good interaction between us and international companies, Mohammad Meshkin Fam said on Monday.
“At the time of sanctions, the equipment, including the compressors bought from German company Siemens for development of several phases of the South Pars Gas Field were stopped and returned just a few miles away from our border waters,” IRNA quoted Meshkin Fam as saying.
“The compressors were not released until after implementation of the JCPOA and we had to buy the equivalent ones from China and construct relevant foundations to install the machinery,” he said.
Now after the release of purchased Iranian equipment from the German-based company, we had to construct new foundations for the Siemens machinery, he added.
Sanctions associated with mismanagements and managerial changes among main contractors involved in the projects in South Pars caused perplexity in the implementation process of some of the phases, Meshkin Fam had said earlier.
The nuclear agreement between Iran and the world six powers known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed on January 16, 2016.
The South Pars Field is the world largest natural gas condensate field, 3,700 square kilometers, located in the Persian Gulf on the water border line between Iran and Qatar.
