EghtesadOnline: Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Jarollah says he is hopeful that negotiations between Iran and the Persian Gulf Arab countries to get started soon.
Talking to reporters on Sunday night, Jarollah said Kuwait expects the consultations between Tehran and Persian Gulf Coopeartion Council (PGCC) to start after political messages having been exchanged between the two sides.
He said that Kuwait had communicated Iran’s response and written message to senior officials of the Persian Gulf Arab states, IRNA reported.
“The foreign ministers of Persian Gulf Cooperation Council states are scheduled to hold a meeting on March 30 during which the issue of engaging in talks with Iran will be discussed,' Kuwaiti official said.
Khaled Jarollah pointed to reports released regarding construction of the second unit of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, saying that 'our friends in Iran emphasize that the mentioned plant is being built and managed under perfect security condition'.
Political observers believe that taking advantage of joint political and economic capacities, having convergence in international stances, securing peace and stability in the region, and developing Islamic countries are among the reasons why Iran and PGCC states should promote their strategic cooperation.
