EghtesadOnline: Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov has said that the talks on Syrian crisis will be held in the country's capital of Astana on March 14.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Abdrakhmanov said that the fourth round of the Syria talks will run for two days in the Kazakh capital.
Talks for holding the next round of Astana talks on Syria has been finalized and the only remaining issue is to set the level of the negotiations, said the Kazak foreign minister, IRNA reported.
Iran, Russia and Turkey are the initiators of the Dec 30 ceasefire in Syria. The three countries have also planned the Astana Talks which was held in the capital city of Kazakhstan on Jan 23-24, 2017.
The meeting was the first multilateral negotiations held between representatives of the three peace sponsors (Iran, Russia and Turkey) as well as officials from legitimate government of Syria and envoys from Syrian armed opposition groups who met face-to-face for the first time since the crisis in Syria started in mid-March, 2011.
Prior to the third round of Syria talks which was held in Astana on Feb 16, the Iranian, Russian and Turkish officials discussed preliminaries of the talks in a meeting which was considered as the second round of Syria talks.
Later the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev voiced readiness to host fresh talks on peace in Syria.
However, reports coming from Moscow indicated that the fourth round of talks would be held in Astana on March 14.
