EghtesadOnline: Senior advisor to Majlis speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphsized significance of a diplomatic solution and Syrian-Syrian dialogue to restore peace and security to Syria.

Presence of terrorists in Syria is against security of that country and the entire Middle East region, said Amir-Abdollahian in a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Iran Mahmoud Adnan on Saturday.

According to IRNA, he added that Iran will continue its support for Syria until the complete implementation of a diplomatic solution in that country.

Congratulating recapture of Tadmur city by the Syrian Army, Amir-Abdollahian added that liberation of the historic and ancient city from Takfiri terrorists reveals resistance and strength of the Syrian Army and that of the resistance forces in the fight against Daesh Takfiri terrorists.

Holding the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (uprising) in Tehran is a major step to prevent the issue of Palestine getting influenced by regional developments, the Iranian official said.

He further noted that organizing the newly-ended international conference amounted to underlining the need for unity among Muslim nations, paving the way for condemning the Zionist regime’s inhumane and illegitimate measures at the international scene and providing assistance to the Palestinian nation.

The 6th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada was held in Tehran on Feb 21-22 with the participation of 80 delegations from different world countries.

The Syrian ambassador in Tehran, expressed pleasure over the success of the Intifada conference, saying that statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the issue of Palestine serves as a working plan for the Islamic Ummah (nation).

In his speech to the conference inaugural session, Ayatollah Khamenei said that he believed that the Palestinian Intifada would finally succeed to achieve its goal of complete liberation of Palestine.

Commenting on the Geneva talks for Syria, Adnan said that new round of Geneva talks on the Syrian crisis is assessed positive compared to the earlier talks.

He said that the only solution to Syrian crisis is to focus on fighting against terrorism.

Noting that it’s only Syrian nation which can decide about their future, the Syrian ambassador added that presence of terrorist groups on the negotiation table is dangerous.

The Syrian envoy also hailed Iran’s role as an ally to Syria in the anti-terrorism campaign.
