EghtesadOnline: "Tehran and Beirut have a great number of potentials to develop ties and they can be effective in solving regional issues through cooperation," said Iranian president Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon, Nabih Berri.
At the meeting that was held on Wednesday in Tehran, Rouhani added: "in the path of developing bilateral ties, it is essential that we use all potentials and we hope that by cooperating with each other, we can tap the potentials for the benefit of both nations".
According to ISNA, he referred to complicated issues of the region, adding: "to solve the issues of the region, there is no way other than consultation and cooperation".
Rouhani also said: "in the Syrian issue and to fight terrorism, Iran and Lebanon stood by the Syrian people and if this cooperation and coordination did not exist, today Damascus would be Daesh' capital city in the region".
Stating that the Zionist Regime takes the most advantage of the ups and downs of the problems in the region, he said: "Iran is determined to establish peace and stability in the region have good relations with neighboring countries and resolve the issues through dialogue and communication".
At the same meeting, the Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon, Nabih Berri also underlined good and brotherly relations between Iran and Lebanon and said: "we are determined to promote relations, especially in economic fields".
Stating that Tehran and Beirut have common interests and enemies, he said: "the enemies are seeking to create new divisions in the countries of the region, something that we need to be careful about".
"I testify before God and history that Iran is under heavy pressures in resisting against the conspiracies of the enemies and supporting the resistance movements of the nations of the region," he added.
