EghtesadOnline: President Hassan Rouhani has called on the Islamic and human sciences scholars to review the phenomenon of 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
“Thirty-eight years have passed since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and I still want to ask the Islamic and human sciences scholars to look back and review the Islamic Revolution,” President Rouhani said, addressing the closing ceremony for the 8th Farabi International Festival in the Iranian capital on Sunday.
“We need to analyze the Islamic Revolution of 1979 to see how it happened during an era dominated by two [East and West] blocs and at a time of the Cold War, and to see how it was achieved by a nation which tended not to rely on either of the two blocs.
We should closely look at how Late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini as a religious leader, philosopher, lecturer and ethical scholar, managed to lead the revolution towards victory.
According to IRNA, Rouhani said that the Islamic Revolution in Iran owes its victory to the leadership of Imam Khomeini.
“I want to raise an important issue,” the President said.
“Had it not been Imam Khomeini’s deep understanding of the Iranian people and his acumen about social nature and social psychology of the country, the revolution would not have embraced victory,” he said.
